The Local Group Policy Editor is a feature of Windows 7 and allows for configuration of group policy objects. To navigate to the group policy editor, enter “gpedit” or “group policy editor” into the search field.

When you open the link highlighted in the above image, “Edit group policy”, the Local Group Policy Editor will launch. In the local group policy editor, certain auditing changes can be made in order to make sure certain events are logged.
