Many attack rely on software being installed and this log can signal who and what installed the software that may cause a vulnerability. It can also be used to make sure that only authorized apps are being installed.
View Logs
grep "install " /var/log/dpkg.log

Due to the limitations of the GNOME Logs app, we do not currently have a GUI way to view this log. We recommend using the command line. To view this log in the command line, enter the command grep "install " /var/log/dpkg.log
.
